Apr. 21st, 2006 10:41 amSo, my parents came down to see me the weekend of my birthday, although they had to leave on my birthday. Odd. This year I didn't really care. Anywhoo, I have some joyous news;
Belgium has voted to grant gay couples the right to adopt! WOO HOO!!!
I also found a great article that kind of lists the status of gay marriage around the world, article found HERE!
Denmark was the first country to legalize; however, since it has a state sponsered religion, church marriages are not allowed. Spain, surprisingly considering their Catholicness, has also legalized. France is the country thats being all bitchy about it. Fuckers. New Zealand offer a civil union option for gay couples, or for hetero couples who just don't want to marry. So yay, this news made my still-sickly day. Peace out.
