So, last weekend was Pride weekend.  I celebrated... a birthday.  Because of Pride, the city's tranist was INSANE.  But I had a good time, drank too much, and spent Sunday recovering.

But that is not why I post.

I post to thank [livejournal.com profile] serialbathera for the awesome Little Mermaid statue icons she made.  The Little Mermaid sits in Copenhagen Harbor, and her face is so beautifully sad.

I post to rec some freaking awesome songs.

See below the cut for awesomeness!!!!

Once again, Pandora has bestowed awesome music upon me.  This is "Your Heart is as Black as Night" by singer Melody Gardot.  Real cool, jazzy.  Her voice is so smooth, but a tiny bit rough, and the is amazing.

This song is called "Letter from the Sky" by Civil Twilight.  The first time I heard it, I though it was Radiohead.  And then I wondered what happened to Thom Yorke's singing voice.  In addition, the singer is all prettyful, which never hurts.

Now this is the song "O Death," a standard gospel spiritual which is first heard and enjoyed in the film "O Brother Where Art Thou," as preformed by Ralph Stanley.  But this one was used on the show "Supernatural" as the introduction for Death, as in the horseman of the apocalypse Death.  Its a very haunting, well done version of the song, quite dramatic.  This video just shows pictures and lyrics.  But if you search, you can find the song as it was played along with Death's introduction, which is really damn freaky.  But this is just the lyric version, because I don't want to be all spoilery.

Anywho, it doth approach midnight, so I'ma head to bed.  Night my lovies!!!!

She is so good, and she's fascinating. She was in an accident and had to relearn stuff, and she has to wear shades all the time because her brain feels everything is too bright.

*hugs you*
